West Hartlepool RFC 29Middlesbrough RUFC 29

On this Pleasant Valley Sunday I reflect on another humdinger of a local derby at West.Boro opened the scoring with a penalty from Full Back Brendan Hill 0-3Domination in the scrum from the Boro pack allow No8 Adam Marron to pick up from the base and score out wide. 0-8Great start I’m a believer in these ladsWest come back and a couple of missed tackles allows them through our defence  for a 7 pointer 7-8The home side take the lead with a penalty 10-7Immediately Boro Roar back with Aedan Moloney breaking through tackles to score Brendan Hill kicks the extras 10-15Boro are playing with real Porpoise now.West clear their lines and Adam Marron collects the ball and feeds to Matthew Marsay who flies down the wing then cuts inside 3 defenders like  stepping stones to score Brendan Hill adds the con 10-22Break from Brendan who sets the ball up on half way with great support securing it from young Aaron Laws. Aedan Moloney picks up and scores via the old Samoan Side Step through the full back Brendan Hill hits a great conversion from out wide to finish the scoring for BoroAll over then, I hear you say, not in this league!!!Our hosts hit back with 2 tries and a conversion, Entering Squeaky Bum time 22-29As if riding the Last Train West batter the Boro line and eventually cross out wide despite valiant attempt to tackle from the Boro lads. It was very close to the touch line and too close to call by the touch judge, who quite rightly, let the man in the middle make the decision and a try was awarded. A superb conversion from out wide gave the home side a share of the spoils.29 all what a game.Look Out for our next thrilling encounter when we play at home against Durham City next week 2pm KOJust keep swimming Folks
