After last week’s epic encounter with Stockton, Middlesbrough entertained Morpeth in Regional 2 NorthStraight from the opening kick off the Home side are on the attack a great line break from skipper Jack Mac opens the scoring with a try converted by full back Brendan Hill 7-0The visitors then open their account with a penalty kick and a try of their own after Boro missed a couple of crucial tackles 7-10Here we go again another humdingerJust after the half hour truly scrumptious interplay from Boro feeds the ball to wing Rhys Kilbride who pinballs his way towards the line, Winger Marsay and fly half Barritt secure the ball, No 9 McRobert fizzes the ball out and forwards and backs combine getting the ball to that man Jack Mac who must have carried 4 defenders over the line with him to score, great con kicked by Aedan Moloney 14-10Back come Morpeth and in the closing seconds of the 1st stanza they score out wide HT 14-15Early doors into the second half Ali Lang makes another one of many line breaks and Morpeth infringe giving Moloney a chance to kick us in front, he slots this 17-15Another penalty and Moloney extends the score to 20-15Successive penalties move Boro towards the opposition line, the second kicked by veteran prop Josh “Lyno the Rhino” Lynas and from the ensuing line out the forwards go close Lynas then passes the ball to veteran Prop Matthew Helm, lingering with intent on the wing to score, good skills from the lads with a combined age of Ahem Ahem 25-15Boro follow this up with a break from Matthew Marsay who feeds the ball to Rhys KIlbride to score out wide 30-15MIddlesbrough then round off their scoring when Jack Mac breaks through and passes to Aedan Moloney who steps out of a tackle to score, he adds the extras 37-15A final well deserved try from never say die Morpeth rounds off the scoring with a try Final Score Middlesbrough 37 Morpeth 20Wow what a game, next week we travel to Consett KO 2pm
