admin

Another cracking match at Parc du Acklam yesterday with the lads in league action vs Consett.

With a slippery surface and ball Boro start well up the slope with some strong carries from Shaun Kay,, Jack Luke and Brendan Hill. The ball is held up close to the line and scrum half Jake Chalklen taking the ball and a lovely pass to Andrew Baggett who crosses for our first score, he adds the conversion 7-0

I must have blinked then cps when ilooked up Consett had scored 7 points and had a man in the sin bin. Apologies but i have no idea what happened 7-7

Andrew Baggett calmed things down with a penalty 10-7

Further strong runs from Hill and then skipper Pete Homan sees the ball into No. 9 Chaklens hands and he crosses for our second try of the afternoon, Baggy converts 17-7

Both sides exchange penalties 20-10

Second half a great driving maul from a lineout sees hooker Joe Sawdon steer the ball over the line to score 27-10

Straight from the kick off Jack Mac kicks the ball down field, he chases his own kick tackles the receiver and strips the ball in the same motion, Wow. The ball makes its way out to flying wing Sean Joseph who scores out wide 32-10

Never say die Consett reply with 12 points of their own, 2 tries and a con 32-22

Again Andrew Baggett shows his experience and knocks a penalty over from all of 40 yards but back come Consett to score an unconverted try in the last play of the game.
Boro 35 Consett 27.

Another cracking well contested game at Boro’s home of rugby
