Guisborough 26 Middlesbrough 19

They were due a win but why oh why did it have to be us?
Wish I had attended this local derby as it sounded like an absolute belter of a match. Guisborough performing well all season but not getting a W as of yet and Boro continue their up and down performances.
Guisboro kicked off and almost immediately were awarded a penalty which they converted making it 3-0.
After gaining the upper hand in the forwards early on Boro Skipper Peter Homan scored the 1st try of the game converted by Todd the score becoming 3-7
This was followed by a period of pressure from the home team but resilient defence from Boro kept them out.
Middlesbrough winger young Harry Bryce then scored in the corner and with a missed conversion 3-12
Guis came back and slotted a penalty making the score 6-12, which although both teams trying to play open rugby, ended the 1st period scoring.
After the kick off another penalty to Guis brought the score to 9-12
A try for the hosts made it 16-12 with the conversion
Then evergreen Andy Micklewright scored a try and with the conversion made it 16-19 to Middlesbrough.
Another Guisborough penalty made it 19 all.
In the dying seconds the home side were awarded a penalty which they attempted to kick for the win, alas, this fell short and with one final attempt the Boro lads tried to go all out for the victory. In a final twist Guisborough stripped them of the ball and scored under the posts, the conversion was added as the final whistle blew.
Final score Guisborough 26 Middlesbrough 19.
By all accounts Guisborough have played extremely well in a lot of their fixtures this season, all the Yorks 1 clubs have been impressed with them. They were due a win but, "Why against us?" We will never here the last of it
