Good performance away from home against a side in form
The boys in maroon and gold travelled away to Pontefract yesterday.
The match started with the hosts attacking the Boro defensive line which held firm.
Then, a break from the visitors skipper Pete Homan put wing Rhys Kilbride away for the first points of the afternoon 0-5.
Both sides were playing some great attacking rugby, repelled by some good defence until the hosts crossed making the score 5 all
Approaching half time Pontefract scored a try and converted it making the score 12-5 at the break.
The second half saw the home team start to take over scoring the next 22 points including 4 tries. 34-5
The visitors were then spurred into action when young scrum half Jamie Watson scored from a quick tap penalty, converted by full back Matthew Todd 34-12
Next a superb kick and chase saw Captain Marvel, Pete Homan win the race to dive on the ball for Boro's 3rd try 34-19.
Boro have got the bit between their teeth playing some super attacking rugby culminating in back row forward Shaun Kay scoring to make it 34-26
Is the greatest come back since Lazarus on? Alas, no, two further tries and a conversion gave the home side the win 46-26
Awesome show of heart fellas. Many a side would have given up at 34-5 down, but your excellent strength of character to fight back for a try bonus point shows me that my beloved club is in safe hands. Very well done to you all.
We've had the Oscars, the Emmys and the Grammys. Now it's turn for the Tilly's, Chairman's special mention goes to Rhys Kilbride who looked dangerous every time he got the ball.
Next week Boro are home to Bradford Salem ko 3pm
